Instagram is a great resource tool to help drive business toward your blog, youtube channel, or anything else you’re looking to promote. But with so many different accounts, how are we able to stand out as stylists / colorists in our industry?
If you want to attract views from the right people, it all boils down to communities. To be a part of community or be featured on a page w/ a larger audience than yours, you have to use the proper hashtags 
PRO TIPS FOR USING HASHTAGS
- Try to Use 1-2 minimum hashtags in the photo you’re sharing
- For additional hashtags, pop a comment under your photo with any more # you want to use. This will get your photo seen by people who click these hashtags, but can be less distracting to your followers when initially reading the caption.
- You can only hashtag your own photos
- You can use up to 30 hashtags in your photo. Some say that 30 is over doing it. Hey, you be the judge.. after all.. it’s your damn page!
- If attended a class or destination, find out the dedicated hashtag and post using that to be shown on the top posts for that #hashtag to gain new followers
- Oh, and don’t forget that showing transformational videos is always a great way to share your personality and build a brand. taking someone from black to blonde? Document it & break it down into a 60 second video. This is something I struggle to do myself. I’m all photos. Try whatever works for you
